Our Construction Process

Pre-Construction

We will meet with you on site to talk about your project including your design ideas, budget and timelines. We will discuss what parts of the project you would like us to take care of and what parts you would like to do. We will advise you of what permits and approvals may be required from other agencies and the timelines for approval. If you wish, we will arrange for you visit similar construction projects that we have worked on. We will discuss options for construction and show you samples of construction materials that you may wish to use for your project or connect you with our supplier so you can see their complete product line.

Design

The Ontario Building Code requires that an Application for a Building Permit include a complete set of construction drawings prepared by a qualified person. We will recommend that you work with our designer or retain a designer of your own choosing to prepare construction drawings for your project. It is surprisingly cost effective, and gives the Chief Building Official and our carpenters and sub-trades all the information they need to ensure that your project turns out exactly the way you planned.

Contract

Once we have agreed on the scope of the project, we will provide you with a contract to review and sign. The contract will describe the project in detail, clearly spell out the responsibility of each party, provide the dates for start and completion of construction, outline details of the payment schedule, outline the process for contract change orders, and a dispute resolution strategy.

Project Completion

When the project is complete we will meet with you on site to go over the project and make sure it is to your satisfaction.
